Later on today the following changes will take effect.
We realise some of you are missing former premium features and as promised by the ChatTeam a few weeks ago, some of these have now been integrated into the rank structure.
As you progress up the ranks you will get more and more features awarded, FREE of charge.
1. Friends List - Friends take up a lot of space and as a result is the cause for some of the stability issues you have been experiencing. Obviously the ChatTeam have wanted to find a balance which will be acceptable to all. For this reason, it now works on a calculation of 3 times your rank number. For example if you are a new user (rank 10) you will be allowed 30 friends, if you are an admiral (rank 171) you will be allowed 513. We recognise that some people will need to have a clean up to enable them to add new people ? but a clean home is a happy home ;)
2. Photo Album/PortHole - up to rank 20 you will be allowed to upload 5 images. Once at rank 20 you will be allowed 2 times your rank number. For example if you are ranked admiral (171) you are allowed 342 images.
3. The ability to photostamp images will be available to all ranks
4. Once above rank Cabin Boy Level 2 thumbnails will be available on images in both other people's PortHoles and your own. This means you will be able to go straight to the image you wish to view.
5. At rank Lieutenant 2nd class we will give you access to full rooms.
6. We have also increased the size of the f2 navigator box to make it easier to view.
In addition you will see the return of notifications when you receive a new shipmail or logbook message.
We did spot one small issue during testing. The error messages you will see when you try to add friends or images when you are already at your limit need changing. This will be done in the next few days.
As you can see, things are most certainly moving forward and these exciting changes are an indication of things to come.
