It's that time again folks! Every four years since the World Cup began with the inaugural tournament in 1930, with the exception of 1942 and 1946 when it was not held because of the second world war, football teams from around the globe have battled it out on the pitch for their right to claim victory as the champions for a four year period. The latest winners, as we all remember well, being Spain who took the cup in South Africa in 2010!
Now we're all wondering who will take over as current champions for the next four years and I'm sure we all have a pretty decent guess as to how it's going to go down.. Or at least how we hope it is. With this in mind, Lycos Chat have come up with a little bit of a competition for all you footie followers. In fact, you don't even have to be a football follower to take part, you just need to understand the rules.
In the group stage alone there are 48 matches to be played, which means there are 48 matches for you to guess on right now if you wish to. We have devised a points system so that those of you who guess the most correct winners/scores win this competition and a lovely prize for your effort.
