A significant amount of development time has been invested in making the communication on the chat as good as it can be, and right now, it's almost instant with no lag.

However, some internet security and anti-virus programs will provide 'instant web surfing protection'. This protection means your program will be scanning and checking every web request before it's allowed, meaning your chat will run a little slower than it's expected to.

At our end, we believe we have done everything we can to make the chat fast. If you don't have any instant protection software installed, from today, you should notice the chat performs like a dream.

If you do have the protection software installed, you may not benefit from our recent update. If however you want to benefit from our update and want the chat to be super fast, you can do one of the following things:

1) Uninstall your current internet security/anti-virus program and install Microsoft Security Essentials instead (it's free, and covers virus's, spyware and security).

2) If you know how, and for the advanced user, provide exceptions for http://s.*.worldsbiggestchat.com/* AND http://s.chat.lycos.*/* 

We'd also like to mention at this point that the Google Chrome browser is the fastest and most compatible browser with the chat. Whilst Internet Explorer, FireFox and Safari all work well, for an even better experience, try using Google Chrome instead.
