With an internet world full of fakes and people pretending to be people they are not, choosing to have your identity verified provides confidence for those you chat to. Knowing you really are who you say you are (down to age and gender), makes the people you talk to feel far more secure.

Many of you have been asking for a way to get rid of the fakes, so we will very shortly be offering you all the ability to verify yourself using the NetIDme system. Once we launch, there will be links to find out more about it on your "My Page" which we would encourage you to click. In addition people who have chosen to become verified will be clearly visable on the chat, both via their profiles and with an icon next to their name in the chat room lists.

So why not choose to become verified as soon as it launchs and prove to others you can be trusted too?
