Many will recall, a while ago a change was made to the level of rank you had to reach before being able to send a Private Message (PM) to another chatter. The rank needed was VIP Passenger Level 4.

The change was introduced as a means to reduce the amount of PMs a new chatter would encounter as soon as they entered a room allowing space to explore chat fully before being ready for PM chat.

As time has moved on and listening to feedback from many, it’s been identified this rank was still too low and so has now been increased.

Now, chatters have to be at the rank of Ordinary Seaman to be able to send and receive PMs (those using an Ad Blocker will still be unable to PM).

We appreciate this change may be a bit of a surprise to some but, for the regular chatter, this rank is still easily achievable which shouldn't impact too much on how you use chat.  Hopefully, overall it will be an improved experience for everyone on board.
