Dear Passengers and Crew,
We have today pushed a new release to the chat to make your chatting experience better.
Here is a summary of what we've done:
Font Change
Our font was getting a little outdated. Now we've changed it, see the difference....
Old:
New:
Shipmail Recipient & 'Reply All'
Before today, you were able to send shipmails to more than one chatter by typing each name followed by a comma. However, the people receiving the shipmail didn't know who else it had been sent to. Now, it will display more like an email. You'll know exactly who else is involved in that shipmail. In addition to this, you can now 'Reply All' as well as just 'Reply'. This has been tested by our Navigators, now we know it works well, we're releasing it to everyone :)
Remove NickList
A while ago we removed the need for Flash Player to be installed to use the chat. This meant that theoretically, you could chat on iPads, iPhones and other tablets and smartphones. However, as the screens are a lot smaller, this meant it was difficult for you to see the chat screen properly.
We have introduced a new 'Remove NickList' button inside the chat client which, when clicked, will remove the list of chatters and only display the room. This means that even if you're using a smartphone, you will still be able to see the chat room enough to be able to chat. Now that our navigators have tested it, we're releasing it to everybody :)
The screenshot below shows a user chatting with an iPad, the button with the red circle around it is the button to remove the NickList.
'My Page' changes
We've made a number of changes to My Page to make it easier to find what you're looking for. These are:
1. The Facebook box has now moved to the right hand menu (and will be displayed on every page, including the Bridge).
2. The 'My Menu' and 'ChatShop & Fun' menu's have been switched around.
3. Small icons have been added to those menu items where there were no icons.
4. The 'Sign Out' button has moved to the bottom of the left hand menu. After all, who wants to sign out? ;-)
5. The 'Hi ChatNick, you are signed in' box has been removed. Instead, when you're signed in, the menu will show your name. It was taking up too much space.
Popup Boxes in the Chat Client
The /rank and /cabin pop up boxes were getting very dated and barely functional. We have now updated these, keeping with the nautical theme.
Here is the /rank one:
And here's the /cabin one:
Bottom Curve Design Error
When we changed our background to a faded green style, we noticed that the bottom of each page displayed a bit funny. This has now been fixed.
Streamlined Chat Client Buttons
In the chat client, there are many buttons that do certain things. These were all over the place and there wasn't a simple way of working out what sort of button did what sort of function. Now though, all the buttons on the LEFT of the client will change the way your client looks or behaves, or load up something inside the client. Everything on the RIGHT of the client will load up another page, for example the bridge, my page or one of our social media pages.

Overlay Windows
The Overlay Windows in the community pages, for example the 'Chat Now' and 'Feature' ones, have now been refined. They look nicer, are easier to read and easier to see the information you need.
Links at the top of Community pages
There wasn't previously a link to 'My Page' at the top of the community pages (in the green bar). Now, if you're logged in, you will see a 'My Page' link to quickly jump back to what you need to. Those who are logged out will continue to see the 'Logbook' link instead, taking them to an explanation of what we have in the community.
That's all for today!
Happy Chatting
