As you are aware, the Credit Crunch has had a major impact on most people and business. We too have been struggling to stay afloat while offering you all a completely free chat. With this in mind, we hope you will understand that to enable us to keep the basic chat free, there will need to be some changes to what we offer within our free service and what we will be offering as a new premium option.
The features which are likely to be affected will be (but are not limited to) your friends list limits, photo storage, creation of custom emotes and private cabins. If a feature is affected, you will receive a notification.
Within the next week or so we will be launching our new premium service. We will not be relaunching the old Silver, Gold and Diamond packages but will give you the opportunity to purchase individual features. This way you pay simply for those you use. Many of you will notice that the prices are very different to what they used to be under the Lycos umbrella. We have tried to keep the prices fair, however also ask you to remember that Lycos folded because it didn’t make enough money to survive.
We are really excited to be able to offer you many of the old premium features which you used to love! These include Multi Logbook Messages, additional space in your Photo Albums (not just number of pictures, but size of pictures too) and for the first time, we’ll give you the opportunity to buy FULL Spy Info!
The “Secret” to full spy was kept for many years by the Administrators and Senior Navigators of the chat. There are many additional things you can see with the FULL Spy Info that you couldn’t see with the one that used to be part of the old Diamond Package. For example, you may have heard a whisper that we were able to see when an emote was used with our ChatNames in them from anywhere on the chat, or if someone did a /seen on us... well it’s true! And now YOU will be able to own this feature too!
Payments for Premium will be launched in three stages over the course of a couple of weeks. Stage one of the premium launch will allow premium features to be purchased via Google Checkout. Phase two will introduce Paypal and phase three will introduce ZayPay (phone payments). You will also not be limited by country. Everyone will have the opportunity to purchase premium features regardless of what country they live in. And for those of you who asked in the past if they could buy memberships for their friends as gifts, now you can! All features, can be purchased for other people as Gifts!
We want this chat to continue, but it won’t without your help. These premium features will make your chat experience more exciting and varied and we hope that you will ALL be able to find it in you to support your chat by buying at least one feature!
