Dear Passengers and Crew,

We are delighted to inform you that we have partnered with Facebook to make chatting on your favourite community even easier than before. We've introduced Facebook Login and Registration, to connect your Facebook account to your Lycos Chat account. As most of you will remain logged into your Facebook accounts 24/7 (even when you close it down), it means that you'll be able to press a single button to login to the chat from the front page, or login direct to the chat client from Facebook itself. 

You'll notice that the front page login box has changed slightly, and now includes a new button:



To connect your account, simply press the 'Login with Facebook' button. You will now be able to either create a new account to connect your Facebook login to, or connect it with an existing Lycos Chat account:



Once you've entered your login details into the boxes, simply click 'Link'. A Facebook window will load up (make sure you allow popups!) where you will have to authorise Lycos Chat to use your Facebook account to log you in. Just authorise this and the chat will load up as normal. 

Now that your Facebook account is connected, every time you come to Lycos Chat, you will simply need to click 'Login with Facebook' and the chat will load up immediately. You won't need to type your username in, and you won't need to type your password in. How easy is that? *S*

If for some reason you wish to remove or amend your login providers, you can go to your Settings page on the community and select 'Login Providers' to manage these:



Concerned about privacy? In order to protect your privacy, Lycos Chat will never post on your behalf, nor will any of your friends be able to see your connection with Lycos Chat, unless you have explicitly 'liked' our Facebook page. Your real name, date of birth and photo will not be visible to other chatters or on your profile, unless you explicitly go into your settings and allow it. Facebook Connect simply makes registering much quicker, and logging in quicker than you're used to :)
